Why It Works
The Monkey King combines the value and consistency of a DJ with the live energy of a band. Behind the scenes, he gets the tunes, rips out the drums with his bare paws, and mixes them together into 45 minute non-stop sets. Then when the smoke and stage lights are on, plays drums live over the top. With over 30 years of gigging experience, this monkey knows how to make a dance floor move, whether it's a wedding, festival or just an epic party.
Prices
Standard Package: £1250
This includes full PA, lighting, smoke machine, live drums performed by the Monkey King, and 2 x 45 min (1 hr 30) drumless mixed non-stop sets chosen from below.
Additional sets: £250 each
Longer sets are no problem, just pick the additional block(s) you'd like in addition to the standard two.
If more than a two hour drive from Swansea, additional travel costs may need to be negotiated.
Story (probably)
Purchased as a baby monkey for the amusement of the King and Queen of French Polynesia in the 1980's, his natural rhythmic tapping of coconut halves quickly prompted the purchase of the state of the art Roland electro-acoustic VAD 504 drum set, which was erected in the middle of the royal court. His performances on this kit, 40 years ahead of it's official release, became so legendary that in short order he was made a monkey knight of the realm and went on to perform internationally for many years simply as Sir Monkey. Upon the eventual death of his benefactors, he was understandably bequeathed their entire fortune and titles. The Monkey King was officially coronated in May 2026, but he doesn't like to go on about it.

Funk favourites from the 60‘s, 70‘s and 80‘s. Great wedding starter to get all ages on the dance floor early doors.
D) HIP HOP
The best old and new skool Hip-Hop, from the East coast to the West. Lower key background or headline it as the main event for true hip hop lovers.
E) DANCE
Electronic Dance through the ages, from Avicii to Zedd. A night finisher when party people are committed and can‘t stop dancing.
F) NORTHERN SOUL
Northern Soul just gets anyone moving, so works well at the beginning of an event to break the ice.
